Helping Our Northern Neighbours helps the 26 communities in Nunavut with food, clothing, crafts, mini projects and birthday supplies. Items are just not available up there and if they are they are so expensive. I joined the groups 2 years ago and have now sent over 800 boxes north with the help of donations from the community and fund raisers that the Pub on Norwich have sponsored to help with shipping costs to the North. I started this after my son went missing in a northern community and I was looking for a way to pay it forward in his name. When my husband found this group in a story in the Readers Digest I just knew this was what I wanted to do. We have converted our sons room now and it is full of shelving to store and sort the donations.
